Rasha Osman obtained a BSc Computer Science with Honours in 1995 and an MSc in Computer Science in 2001 both from the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, University of Khartoum, Sudan. She completed her PhD in Software Performance Engineering at the University of Bradford, UK in 2010. Her PhD was partially funded by the Overseas Research Studentship Award.

She joined the Department of Computing at Imperial College London in 2011 as a visiting researcher funded by the Schlumberger Foundation. Her interests include performance modelling of software systems, self-* systems and self-tuning DBMS. She is a Fellow of the HEA, senior member of the IEEE and member of the BCS.
